Frequently Asked Questions¶
General¶
What is the DryBase?
The DryBase is a professional filament drying unit that operates at temperatures up to 100°C — significantly higher than most consumer filament dryers. It's designed for engineering materials like PA, PA-CF, PA-GF, PAHT, and ASA.
Why is it a kit?
We believe in the maker community. By selling the DryBase as a kit, we can offer it at a lower price while giving you the satisfaction of building it yourself. Plus, you can customize the housing to your liking.
What's the difference between the Complete Kit and Core Kit?
The Complete Kit includes all components — you only need to 3D-print the housing. The Core Kit includes all non-printed components — you need to 3D-print all structural parts yourself.
3D Printing¶
What materials can I use for the housing?
The housing must be printed in a material that withstands 100°C. We recommend PA6-CF/GF or PA6-GF25 (e.g. Polymaker Fiberon). ASA is also acceptable. Do not use PLA or PETG — they will deform at operating temperatures. See Chapter 2 for full details.
Can I use a print service for the housing?
Yes, as long as the parts are printed in a compatible material. See the material requirements in Chapter 2.
Filametric Studio¶
Does Filametric Studio require an internet connection?
No. Filametric Studio runs entirely locally on your computer and communicates with the DryBase over your local Wi-Fi network. No cloud, no account, no subscription.
Is there a macOS version?
A macOS version is in development. Currently, Filametric Studio is available for Windows 10 (64-bit) and above.
Warranty & Support¶
What does the 24-month warranty cover?
The warranty covers all non-consumable components against manufacturing defects. It does not cover customer-printed parts, consumable items (heating elements, fans), or damage from incorrect assembly. See our Terms of Use for full details.
How do I contact support?
